Hera II: 19.10.2017 Lakka. Paxos

Très bien dormi. Un peu gris ce matin mais le soleil apparait assez vite et il fait une belle journée ensoleillée. Je regarde autour de nous, nous sommes 15 bateaux ancrés dans la baie et une dizaine de voiliers charters sont au quai au village. Notre voisin est un grand voilier bleu de Hollande qui s’appelle … « Grande Blu ». En fouillant dans les livres, il y a une petite bibliothèque sur le bateau, Jens trouve deux livres intéressants : « Flowers of Greece » et un vieux livre, écrit en 1989, sur l’ile où nous sommes Paxos. Je me plonge dans le livre de fleurs avec bonheur pendant que Jens bricole. Il monte un régulateur pour le panneau solaire. Puis nous allons à terre avec le Zodiac. Il a un moteur mais ce moteur ne marche pas, donc Jens rame. Je suis assise sur la planche verticale derrière et ce n’est pas très confortable. Si Jens a le temps, il fera un « trône » comme nous avions dans notre bateau pneumatique en 2002 quand nous étions allés au Lofoten. En arrivant à la petite plage de galets en face, surprise : le sous-bois est couvert de petits cyclamens sauvages. Joli village, très coquet sur le front de mer mais beaucoup plus fouillis derrière, dommage. Nous marchons un peu le long de la falaise vers la mer mais devons rebrousser chemin, on ne peut plus passer. Nous faisons quelques courses, achetons un demi-gigot, des haricots verts et du bon raisin de l’ile. Nous prenons un jus d’orange sur une terrasse au bord du quai et parlons un peu avec nos voisins, un couple anglais en vacances qui sont tout à fait anti-Brexit. Retour à Hera II et en rentrant je remarque pour la première fois son numéro d’immatriculation, écrit sur le côté. C’est exactement le même que l’un de mes codes ! Si j’étais superstitieuse je dirais que c’est un bon signe …Lunch, sudoku, Jens finit d’installer le régulateur puis deuxième promenade vers le phare au nord de l’ile. En rentrant Jens trouve une planche (puis deux autres plus tard) pour faire un siège dans le Zodiac. Ce n’est pas bien qu’ils jettent de la poubelle partout mais c’est bien quand on cherche du matériel. Baignade, blog, bon diner du gigot au four avec pommes de terre et haricots verts. Belle soirée, un peu fraiche quand le soleil se couche, mais beau ciel étoilé. Après diner j’ai des problèmes avec Internet pour mettre les photos dans le blog et dois arrêter.

We slept vey well, a little gray this morning but the sun appears quite quickly and it is a beautiful sunny day. I look around, we are 15 boats anchored in the bay and a dozen charter sailboats are at the dock in the village. Our neighbor is a large blue yacht from Holland called "Grande Blu". Jens finds two interesting books: "Flowers of Greece" and an old book, written in 1989, on the island where we are Paxos. I plunge into the flower book with pleasure while Jens fixes things. He mounts a regulator for the solar panel. Then we go ashore with the Zodiac. It has a motor but this motor doesn’t work, so Jens rows. I'm sitting on the vertical board behind and it's not very comfortable. If Jens has time, he will make a "throne" as we had in our inflatable boat in 2002 when we went to Lofoten. Arriving at the small pebble beach opposite, surprise: the undergrowth is covered with small wild cyclamen. Nice village, very pretty on the waterfront but much more messy back, too bad. We walk a little along the cliff to the sea but have to turn back, we can’t pass. We do some shopping, buy a half-leg of lamb, green beans and good grapes from the island. We took an orange juice on a terrace at the edge of the dock and talk a bit with our neighbors, an English couple on vacation who are quite anti-Brexit. Back to Hera II and on returning I notice for the first time her registration number, written on the side. This is exactly the same number as one of my codes! If I was superstitious I would say it's a good sign ... Lunch, sudoku, Jens finishes installing the regulator then second walk to the lighthouse north of the island. Returning Jens finds a board (and then two others later) to make a seat in the Zodiac. It's not nice that they throw garbage everywhere but it's good when we look for material. Swimming, blog, good dinner of the leg of lamb with potatoes and green beans. Nice evening, a little cool when the sun sets, but beautiful starry sky. After dinner I have problems with the Internet to put the pictures in the blog and have to stop.
