Hera II: 16.10.2017 Preveza

Bien dormi, levés à 7 h 45, nous faisons notre toilette de chat puis Jens va acheter du pain mais pas de journaux ici, ils sont tous en grec. A 9 h 30 Spyros arrive (pour me rappeler son nom, je pense à Spirou, un personnage de bande dessinée de mon enfance). C’est lui qui est le responsable technique de Hera II ici, à sa base, à Preveza. Jens a, bien sûr, pleins de questions à lui poser. Ils parlent une demi-heure ensemble, ils se comprennent bien, puis Spyros doit partir, il entretient d’autres bateaux aussi et l’un d’eux à un problème à résoudre. Jens va ensuite arranger tous les papiers, d’abord au bureau du port, il faut payer la place (7 € par jour, ce n’est pas cher), puis à la police et enfin aux douanes. Tout se passe bien. Pendant ce temps je regarde les vieux journaux de bord, depuis 1989. Hera II a d’abord été suédoise. Un journal raconte le voyage de Suède jusqu’en Grèce en 1989, par les canaux. Intéressant. A un moment j’entends quelqu’un qui appelle. Je sors et voit une dame sur le quai. Elle me demande si le bateau est bien arrivé samedi. Je réponds que le bateau est bien arrivé samedi mais que c’était avec un autre équipage. Si je comprends bien, cette dame et son mari ont été en contact radio avec Roald sur Hera II puis ont perdu le contact. Ils sont hollandais et ont un bateau ancré dans la baie, ils ne sont pas au quai. Nous bavardons un bon moment, ils sont aussi descendus de Hollande en Grèce par la Baie de Gascogne et Gibraltar. Mais ils restent maintenant en Grèce. Ils mettent leur bateau à terre mercredi et rentrent en Hollande. Je l’invite à monter sur Hera II mais elle n’a pas le temps. Jens revient et nous allons ensemble acheter un thermomètre et nous baigner, la plage est à 10 mn du bateau. Jens mesure l’eau et elle est à 21 ⁰. Lunch au bateau, mais on ne veut pas avoir si chaud qu’hier. Que faire ? Hera II a un grand bimini (une toile qui fait de l’ombre) mais c’est difficile à installer. La solution : mettre un parasol, il y en a plusieurs sur le bateau et voilà, nous sommes bien sous le parasol. Je suis un peu fatiguée et pas très en forme, donc je fais une sieste après le lunch. Jens travaille, il inspecte la boite à outils et fait une liste de ce qui manque. Nous allons ensemble faire des courses à un supermarché, les posons au bateau et allons de nouveau à la plage. Très agréable. Blog et cuisine pour Jens. Nous avons découvert une bouteille de gin dans le bar du bateau, avons acheté du Schweppes et nous nous faisons un gin and tonic avant le diner, très british. Après diner nous lisons et Jens me fait remarquer que c’est presque aussi « koselig » (agréable, confortable) que sur Maja …

Slept well, we got up at 7:45 am, we wash ourselves like cats then Jens goes to buy bread but no newspapers here, they are all in Greek. At 9:30 am Spyros arrives. He is the technical manager of Hera II here at her base in Preveza. Jens, of course, has many questions to ask him. They speak half an hour together, they understand each other well, then Spyros has to leave, he maintains other boats as well and one of them has a problem to solve. Jens goes to arrange all the papers, first at the port office, we have to pay the place (7 € per day, it is not expensive), then to the police and finally to the customs. Everything is OK. Meanwhile I look at the old logbooks, since 1989. Hera II was initially Swedish. The first logbook tells the story of her journey from Sweden to Greece in 1989, through the canals. Interesting. At one point I hear someone calling. I go out and see a lady on the quai. She asks if the boat arrived well on Saturday. I reply that the boat arrived on Saturday but that it was with another crew. If I understand correctly, this lady and her husband were in radio contact with Roald on Hera II then lost contact. They are Dutch and have a boat anchored in the bay, they are not at the dock. We talks for a while, they also descended from Holland to Greece by the Baie of Biscaye and Gibraltar. But they are staying now in Greece. They'll put their yacht ashore on Wednesday and fly home in Holland. I invite her to join me on Hera II but she doesn’t have time. Jens comes back and we go together to buy a thermometer and then go to the beach which is 10 minutes away from the boat. Jens measures the water and it is at 21 ⁰. Lunch on the boat, but we do not want to be so hot as yesterday. What to do ? Hera II has a large bimini (a canvas that makes shade) but it is difficult to install. The solution: put up a parasol, there are several on board and here we are, comfortable under the parasol. I am a little tired and not in form, so I take a nap after lunch. Jens works, inspects the toolboks and makes a list of what is missing. We go together to shop at a supermarket, put the food on the boat and go back to the beach. Very pleasant. Blog and cooking for Jens. We found a bottle of gin, bought Schweppes and make a gin and tonic before dinner, very British. After dinner we read and Jens finds that it is almost as "koselig" (pleasant, comfortable) as on Maja ...
